The culmination of a six-week program aimed at educating third through fifth graders about asthma at Albany鈥檚 Giffen Elementary School is happening Thursday, April 25 at 1:30 pm. The pilot program connected public health students from 蜜芽TV with elementary school students at Giffen weekly to implement the American Lung Association鈥檚 Open Airways for Schools Program.

Nearly 40 蜜芽TV students were inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society and the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society at the聽April 14 ceremony held in the Albert M. White Gymnasium on the 蜜芽TV campus. The ceremony聽honors are bestowed upon graduate and professional pharmacy students who distinguish themselves by their academic, professional and leadership achievements.

Dr. Elizabeth Brookins joined 蜜芽TV in 2018 to create the Pre-Professional Pathways program, and to teach anatomy and physiology. She later developed the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, a one-year degree to enhance students鈥� academic records for medical school. She is now working to expand the MSBS online.
